By the time I got to Tuesday this week I already felt like it was Friday. Genuinely, I woke up with anxiety about how I was going to get all my client work done and then realised that it’s only Tuesday.
During the times when everything is a bit chaotic, when friends and family might need to lean on you for support, when there is a long list of things to be done & when you don’t feel 100% either it can be challenging.
I just wanted to write this post to remind you (and myself) that you are powerful.
You don’t need to bring anything more to the table than yourself. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t have to have every single thing worked out. Because you are powerful.
Did you know that the odds of you being born were 1 in 400 trillion! Just that fact alone makes you already more powerful than you could begin to imagine. It was your specific cocktail that was born on to this planet, your special mix.
That’s the mix you should bring to your big long list of things to do, the demands from friends and family on your time and your big list of tasks you need to do for clients or in your job. Be yourself, that’s all that’s needed because you are powerful.
When you feel angry or sad or feel waves of anxiety because you simply can’t get round to everything, because something has to give on the list, because you also have to take care of yourself. When you feel like you’ve let people down because you had to make a decision in the moment between doing x or z, remember you are powerful.
Being powerful has nothing to do with being perfect.
Being powerful is owning the moment.
Standing in the moment and doing your best with what you have available to you.
That is all that life is asking of you.
And remember, if it gets too much, take a break. Don’t apoligise for taking care of yourself first. If something has to drop off the list it has to drop off, let it go. There will be more things to do don’t you worry.
There is only one you so take care of your lovely self this holiday season. Take a moment every now and then to pause, breathe, smile & remember how far you have come.
